Study and work in Ireland

Mexicans in Ireland

How to Study and Work in Ireland as a Mexican

The complete guide — visa requirements, the Irish Embassy in Mexico City, the Stamp 2 process, and what to prepare before you travel.

Before you travel

Mexicans do not need a visa to enter Ireland

No visa required

Mexican passport holders do not need a visa before travelling to Ireland for the Stamp 2 program. You can fly to Ireland with your school documents and register for your permission after you arrive. This makes the process much faster than for nationalities that require a visa.

On Arrival

You register in Ireland, not at the Embassy

You do not need to visit the Irish Embassy in Mexico City for a student visa. Instead, you travel directly to Ireland and present your documents at the border. You will then register with immigration (GNIB/ISD) to get your IRP card. The Embassy in Mexico City is mainly for other visa types or for applicants from other countries (like Venezuela).

Always have your school letter and proof of funds ready for the border officer at the airport.
